Micah 6:8

There are oh so many things to be said, and I am not quite sure where to begin. My generation is up to something. You can say that we are lazy and enabled by the ease of technology. You can say that we crave instant gratification and that we do not know what a real work ethic is. And to some extent, these statements are true. But I choose to believe that we are a generation who will do something with the knowledge we have acquired. We will not be silent.

If you haven't watched this yet, you need to.

At Passion 2012, a group of 40,000+ young adults raised $3.3 million in three days to end the horrors of global human trafficking. The effects of this awareness are sure to be far-reaching as physical and spiritual walls will be torn down. As I think about the genocide, war, famine, and slavery that torment the lives of millions, I feel helpless. What can I do, for I am only one, and can one really make a difference? The answer is a resounding yes. Now that I have seen, I am responsible, for faith without deeds is dead.

And now another movement is on the rise. One that seeks to unite and bring forth change regardless of race, political party, or religious affiliation. Christine Caine repeated during her talk at Passion, "What is more important than people? The most important thing to Jesus was people." Do we believe that?

What has the Lord asked of us, but to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly? Surely we can do these things, for if we claim to know Christ, the same power that conquered the grave abides in us.  We are not alone. These tragic events are not a surprise to Him who knows all things. He is above all and in all. For through Him and for Him all things were made.

See that I am God. See that I am in everything. See that I do everything. See that I have never stopped ordering my works, nor ever shall, eternally. See that I lead everything on to the conclusion I ordained for it before time began, by the same power, wisdom and love with which I made it. How can anything be amiss?
- Julian of Norwich

We cannot act as though we are ignorant. We must take a stand. And the time is now. Our brothers and sisters are dying. They are suffering. We cannot be silent.
