Tuesday Ten: Verses of Gratitude

{via}

Well, friends, like it or not, it is November. We are in the final months of the year, and Christmas is just around the corner! However, it would be a travesty if we looked forward to Christmas so much that we neglected to acknowledge Thanksgiving. This month, I have been participating in an Instagram challenge with the hashtag #getaftergrateful in an effort to recognize and thank Jesus for the work He's doing in my life, big and small. It has awakened me to look for the things that I can be grateful for in the likely and unlikely places. Today I thought I would share ten of my favorite verses that the Lord has used to remind me to keep a thankful heart.

  1. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name! - Psalm 103:1
  2. Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever! - Psalm 118:1
  3. The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation. Glad songs of salvation are in the tents of the righteous. - Psalm 118:14-15
  4. This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. - Psalm 118:24
  5. Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:4-7
  6. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. - Romans 16:20
  7. Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. - Ephesians 3:20-21
  8. Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. - Philippians 4:11-13
  9. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
  10. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. - Romans 12:12
