Soundtrack of My Life

Blog-tember Day 8: Music that moves you. Are you a Spotify addict or a Pandora guru? Tell us your favorite artists/stations!

Okay, friends. This is probably one of my favorite prompts thus far for the Blog-tember challenge. Why? Because I love music. I listen to music when I run, eat, cook, sleep, work, drive...basically as often as I can. I consider myself to have an eclectic taste; there are myriad artists that I listen to and admire. As I thought about this post, I considered how to write about my favorites, and I think the best way is to just narrow it down to my  favorite genres and give you a taste of my most-played-old and and new.

1. Worship Music: This is the music that is by far the most played for me. Worship music moves me to tears and brings a smile to my face, whether I'm running or reading.

Current Favorites: | Hillsong-Zion | Bethel Music-You Make Me Brave | Rend Collective Experiment- The Art of Celebration| Steffany Gretzinger- The Undoing | Kim Walker Smith and Skyler Smith- Home|

2. Singer/Songwriter: This is a genre I've become more familiar with in the last couple years. It has certainly grown on me and has proven to be my favorite music for chillin' and relaxin'. :)

Current Favorites: | Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova- Once Soundtrack | Ray Lamontagne | The Secret Life of Walter Mitty soundtrack | Ingrid Michaelson- Lights Out |

3. Pop: Who doesn't love a good top 40 hit? There are so many songs on the radio right now that are just so dang catchy; I can't help but roll my windows down and sing along.

Current Favorites: | Taylor Swift- Shake It Off | Magic!-Rude | Meghan Trainor- All About That Bass |

4. Country: Don't even judge me here. Country music tells a good story, and it is just plain fun.

Current Favorites: | Keith Urban- Somebody Like You | Dierks Bentley - People Are Crazy | Tim McGraw and Faith Hill- Meanwhile Back at Mama's | Florida Georgia Line- This Is How We Roll |

5. Classical/Instrumental: Being a former dorkestra orchestra student, I love to listen to instrumental music. It brings me back to the days of practicing my violin while dreaming of playing for Shania Twain. (Insert crying laughing emoji here.)

Current Favorites: | Pride and Prejudice OST | P.S. I Love You OST | The Holiday OST | Kenny G- Miracles holiday album | Charlie Brown Christmas album | Yo- Yo Ma- Bach Cello Suite 5 |
