the Tuesday ten
Ok friends, it's about time I introduce a little weekly special to this blog. For some reason, Tuesday has always been my least favorite day of the week. So in thinking about how to be more consistent with my writing and my committment to this blog, I figured I should give a little love on my least favorite day. This little feature will include a random list of things I'm learning, loving, and listening to. I hope you enjoy it! Here goes nothing.
1. "Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)" by Hillsong United
Cannot stop listening to this song. Acoustic, radio version, album cut; it doesn't matter. Absolutely love it.The lyrics are definitely the cry of my heart.
Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the water
Whereever you would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior
2. Celebrating marriage.
No, I'm not getting married. But I consider it an honor to stand with friends who are, and just tonight, an old and dear friend of mine asked me to stand with her. I can't wait. :)
3. Downton Abbey
I'm about to watch the season finale (which came way too soon, in my humble opinion). This season has been cray, to say the least. Lady Mary is growing on me. I still miss Sybil. And Thomas just needs to quit lurking.
4. Third graders.
My class is absolutely adorable this year. I love them so. Today, one of my kids told me that he "goes out with the girl from Frozen." Seriously?!
5. Running.
I'm training for the Chick-fil-A half marathon right now, and the time spent pounding the pavement has been nothing short of therapeutic.
6. Snow days.
We got three snow days a couple weeks ago, and let me just say that I enjoyed every. single. minute. (But I'm also ready for spring?)
7. This book: Notes from a Blue Bike: The Art of Living Intentionally in a Chaotic World by Tsh Oxenreider
Absolutely fantastic read. I was so encouraged and challenged by everything in this book, and it spoke so deeply to desires and convictions I hold as a result of living abroad and coming back to the frenzied crazy that is America.
8. Bacon.
Need I say more? I've been putting it in like, everything.
9. Friends-old and new.
This weekend I was immensely blessed to be able to spend time with two of my oldest friends, along with my sister. Good times were had by all.
10. Memorizing Scripture.
One of my friends told me that she memorized the entire book of James as part of a Beth Moore Bible study, and I decided that I wanted to do the same. I love it, and the Lord has already brought Scripture to mind just when I needed it.
