Winter welcome
Welcome to Winter
Tomorrow morning, you will receive your first Seasons of a Soul devotional. But for today, reflect on why you decided to embark on this journey. Why did you choose to be a part of this? What do you want to learn about the Lord during this year in the Psalms? What are some prayers and cries of your heart that you need to lay before the Lord? Where are some places in your life that you long to see breakthrough?
As you consider these questions, talk them through with the Lord. Set an intention with Him for your time in the Word this year.
The lyrics to the popular hymn “Be Thou My Vision” express the cry of a heart that is ready for a fresh start. In winter, we take time to rest, reflect, and slow down. We remember what God has done while looking forward to what is to come. We wait for the seeds we have sown to take root and anticipate the growth that will come in spring.
Consider the places where God has not answered prayers in the way you would like, and trust that He is working in the waiting.
I’ll see you tomorrow, friends.
BE THOU MY VISION
Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best thought, by day or by night
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light
Be Thou my wisdom, and Thou my true word
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord
Thou my great Father, and I Thy true son
Thou in me dwelling and I with Thee one
Riches I heed not, nor vain, empty praise
Thou mine inheritance, now and always
Thou and Thou only first in my heart
High King of heaven, my treasure Thou art
High King of heaven, my victory won
May I reach heaven's joys, O bright heaven's sun
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall
Still be my vision, O ruler of all
